On 30 July 2015, the Ethereum mainnet went live with the mining of its genesis block. In 2026, Ethereum turns 11, eleven years of a network that started as an experiment and grew into the base layer for a global builder economy.
To mark that, this initiative runs 11 weeks of Build Battles, each week spotlighting a different piece of what Ethereum has become: identity, payments, AI, gaming, privacy, public goods, storage, and culture. The series closes on 31 October 2026, three days before the global community gathers again at Devcon 8 in Mumbai (3–6 Nov 2026), turning eleven years of history into eleven weeks of building, right on India's own doorstep.
Build Battles is a competitive, hands-on arena hosted on Loops House, a solo-builder participation platform where each builder can use AI agents to build on Ethereum against a given problem statement, using the tech stack related to that week's Problem Statement.
